Special Order Nursery, Part I

Thanks to Kendall from Henny & Ev, I got a request to do some custom work for a new baby. It was initially planned to be a nursery set, but altered in a meeting with the customer.

I'm super jazzed to be a part of getting everything together for her little one, and I absolutely love the fabrics that we're working with!

There are still other pieces in process, but here's a sneak peek of a few items that are finished so far.

Car seat cover:

I am completely in love with the robots on the fabric. And I think that she made a great choice to go with big polka dots on the backside. It really looks awesome in person. The photos don't really do the vibrant colors enough justice.

Swaddling cloths:

These are two of the swaddling cloths that will be going out to the new baby. They're made from a super soft flannel, and I hope will keep him nice and snuggly warm. :)

More pictures to come when the final fabrics have been chosen!

Mixed Blessings

Mom and I have been working really hard the past few weeks to get everything lined out for the trunk show. It's been awesome watching things come together, and I'm getting really excited by some of the things that we've finished. I've also been stressing quite a bit over the things that I'd wanted to get done that just weren't going to get done in time.

Then, this morning, I got a mixed blessing phone call.

The trunk show has been postponed. It's still going to happen soon, but the date is TBD.

A bit disappointing, perhaps, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that it's also a little bit of a relief. Now I have time to order additional soap supplies and make a few more quilts and round out the size runs on some of the new pieces that we've made and and and. Honestly, we could probably work for another six months and I still wouldn't feel like we'd done enough, but this *does* allow us to fill in some holes. ;)

I'm also excited to be home on the 3rd. Just after we set the date for the trunk show, my dad made arrangements to come visit...on the 3rd. D'oh. My son couldn't be happier. Although the Henny half of Henny & Ev is his best buddy, he wasn't at all pleased that we were going to miss a day of hanging out with Grandpa.

So, back to the sewing machine for me. ;)

(PS - The dedicated website is still on target and the blog feature is still in place, too, so there's still plenty going on!)

Oh, Hello!

Wow, I've been a really crummy blogger!  Hopefully, updating with some recent coolness will make up for it?

First, some big news - for me, anyway, is that frog loves monkey is no longer a solo operation.  (Well, that's assuming that my husband has been doing grunt work for no credit.  Poor guy.)  My mom, Sally, has officially joined the team and is already cooking up some super cute goodies.  I'm looking forward to taking some pictures tomorrow. :)

Next, we're gearing up for a trunk show!  It's going to be at Henny & Ev in Glendale on March 3rd and we're SO exited.  Also working very hard to have some really cute offerings and a greatly expanded line.

And lastly, along with the trunk show, I've been working to get the dedicated website up and running again.  It's not quite there yet, but soon.  It should be ready to go by the trunk show. :)

And now, I'm off again to try to get my kids to seep so that I can get some of the more tedious, little, "boring" things done... ;)

Blog Feature at Henny & Ev!

Hey, check it out! frog loves monkey girl's skirts have been featured over on the Henny & Ev blog!

If you're in the Phoenix area and looking for a truly awesome kid's store, be sure to stop by and check out Henny & Ev in Glendale. Kendall offers both gently used kid's clothing, books and toys, as well as new items from local crafters and artisans. She even does a weekly story time and periodically offers classes on some really cool subjects!

Dedicated Site On Hold

Just a head's up that, for the time being, froglovesmonkey.com has been put on hold.

I haven't been able to flesh it out quite the way I wanted, and I'd rather not have a subpar website out there. ;) You can still find all the goodies over at the Etsy store, and for folks near Phoenix, at Henny & Ev in Glendale! Also, be sure to "like" our Facebook page for information on items before they're listed elsewhere.
